Feedback Problem

Postby Van der Meijde » Fri Aug 19, 2011 8:38 pm

can we like use a rule just like on other music forums.

'you have to give feedback first to get feeback'

and not the other way around

btw I gave you some feedback on your soundcloud

I think that is fair to everybody, instead of people spamming there tracks over and over

Not gonna happen my friend.
I spend some time reviewing 5 pages from here, and got only 1 feedback in return.

I think everyone just post here and not care about giving feedback, they just hope somebody would like and release their tracks.
It is a place where a lot of the big names started, so i guess everybody thinks those names are still here and will listen to their songs.

Sad but true guys...
It's like Luke never made a mystery out of who's made it from here, in interviews, twitter etc. And Luke being pretty much one of the superstar DJ's right now...
1+1=...

So what can we do about it?
I guess it's up to you guys, only give feedback to the ones you've seen giving back to others here also.
I can not technically allow people to post their track here after they've posted a feedback post first. That's not managable.

How do they do it on the other music forums? Heavy moderating I guess? Please let me know :!:

I've been on alot of forums and the admin/mods make an important and sticky post at the top of the thread with the rules.

don't think it's doable on a big forum like this.
+ you can't really force people to give feedback.
altough it would be nice

Sorry to hear man, though completely understandable.
I think we can implement a rules post on top of each page btw. Have to check when the admin got some time.
But then again, even with such a rule on each page, how can you check easily if everyone is sticking to it?

I think we've all found it hard to get feedback, I tend to listen to a lot of tracks on the threads but I don't post mainly because I don't feel that I've reached a level upon where I can criticize another persons music and say that they should change X or Y, I've often typed up posts and then just canceled lol, I can see many others falling into this category also >_>

I only started producing in october so I feel the same way when it comes to giving feedback as im no expert. There are some things you can comment on that you dont need to be an expert on like noticing if there is no buildup on a song or if there is no outro etc

i've noticed quite a few people asking for feedback on their first post. and it's like "Hey everybody, please leave feedback. Good or bad, thanks"

...well, no. you obviously haven't written anything before, so why would i? there's a few names i recognise now from different conversations, and i'll leave feedback for them, or if someone has a fair amount of posts to their name. i guess everywhere is just full of spam now.
