Luke you said you are buying from beatport, I recognized that the download speed from beatport is very low, my maximum download speed is always at 60-70 kb/s from there... Do you have also low download speed from bp?
I have to ask to you because I don't know anyone at the moment wich is also buying from there :D

I get most of my tracks from beatport to, same problem here. Beatport doesn't download very fast.

I don't think that's a big problem nowadays. Most common broadband connections can download a 60 MB wav-file in 3-4 minutes, so that's pretty fast.
If the suppliers also have a good upload, that is.

Yeah, but try buying 30 tracks in wav format and the download time
will matter...

Well, BP?s servers are slow compared to other sources like Djdownloads etc. from beatport im around 200-300 and on djdownloads im up at 1mb/sec~ +/- 500 so it is a different indeed, but i think beatport is bigger so ofc its like that,
so the prob isn't with you:P

cheers

If you download them all in one day, that will take 90-120 minutes then. But I don't think you mean you download 30 tracks EVERY day, do you?
If so, select them for download, then go for a swim with the kids.

It's coming, but it still may take a while since I'm recording everything

I have a dumb question, but it interests me. I copied this little part of your biography from "discogs.com":

Equipped with only one of the first soundcards in his PC he made his beginner tracks. One day Dobre (Good Men, Trancesetters & Basco) had to dj at Luke's school. Luke went up to Dobre and asked him if he could send him a demo-tape. After sending the tape and getting some feedback from Dobre, Luke bought himself a synthesiser. Dobre and Luke kept in contact and planned midnight sessions at Dobre's studio, listening records. Dobre pointed Luke in the right directions and at the early age of eighteen Luke got his first record deal.

Did it really happened this way? It seems little bit strange to me. And you also didn't tell something about this in the kingsofdjs interview..
