Romanazzi & Mark North - Panama (Mark North Edit)

Postby MarkNorth » Wed May 09, 2012 12:44 am

What's up guys!

Thanks to everyone posting on this forum! It's awesome!

I've been making music for about 6 months now and I've been on this forum a lot. I've read through the "Tips n Tricks" thread etc. But i thought that it was time to finally get my own account and start posting!

I've worked a lot on my mixing for a while now and my friend and I just finished this track, I would really appreciate if someone could give me feedback on the sound, mixing, melodies, arrangements, and yeah... pretty much everything.

Romanazzi & Mark North - Panama (Mark North Edit)

Made in: FL studio
Genre: Progressive House

Thanks a lot :)

I admit I've been producing for 10 hoursstraight so my ears are probably terrible right now but, I love the synth sound in the song a lot, so much so That I would be interested to know how you made them. But I must say the track sounds a touch messy , Like if it was a bit tighter it would be miles better. Also I think more reverb (then again I'm a reverb fiend, sooo yeah)

You mean chiptune lead or bass?

Really nice chords , has a very Alesso sound to it, I like it... very euphoric. sound. As for the mix, I feel like it could be a bit cleaner , but it's pretty good, I like the track, and you've only been at it for 6 months , nice... keep going you got massive potential
I made a pack of 15 kicks download it for free http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?73asn1pmt2nl81h

Really good work, it's one of the better songs I've heard on here! I feel like there are things you can do for the last "drop" to make it bigger, or at least more pronounced. I don't know how hard you want the song to hit, but for me personally, I'd like more of a drop after that nice build-up. Right now it leaves me wanting more. Keep up the good work!

If you could give my song a listen and let me know what you think that would be awesome!

Cheers for the feedback man. I’ll do some work on that drop as I do want it to hit pretty hard.

I had a listen to your track. I like it. I think it has all of the elements of a great track but the levels seem to be all out. All of the energy seems to be coming from your sub and there is no real clarity in the top end. I’d mix the sounds down again with proper EQ’ing to make sure everything is where its meant to be and pay more attention to bringing out the lead sounds.

The vocal also sounds a little dry so maybe add some more reverb to it to make it sit better but that mightn’t be such an issue once you have all of the rest of the sounds eq’d and mixed in again
