Good stuff man, the main thing that stood out to me was your drums/rhythm stuff... It doesnt quite "groove'' enough... Like the intro and the little percussion pattern that plays throughout is to mechanical sounding.. Id try maybe adding some swing quantize to the pattern... maybe experiment with moving things forward and back here and there... Or some sidechaining... fool around with the compressor thats sidechaining (attack and release settings) and that can make it groove some as well.. I Think those things should help the drums groove a bit better!

Also some of your hats are a bit harsh in places... sometimes you gotta find those harsh frequencies in those cymbals...

I like the track though, bassline in the drop is tough..

Hello everyone,

these are some of the remixes I've done for the Beatport Play competitions:

Sander van Doorn - Chasin' (Novke remix)

Zedd - Spectrum (Novke remix) the remix I originally intended to submit for the competition but 2 days before the deadline FL Studio wouldn't let me open the .flp

Zedd ft. Matthew Koma - Spectrum (Novke remix) the remix I submitted, and tbh I am not exactly satisfied with how it worked out

I would like to hear some feedback on these remixes, because I know that I still have much to learn. :)

Thanks!! I'll mess around with the drums more, I can never seem to get them right. It seems like they turn out to be either too soft or over-compressed and harsh. I guess I just have to keep practicing until I get it right!

Track number 2 is kinda nice, but it sounds a little bit messy.

i agree with this guy... bassline is pretty cool! It adds a lot of body to it.
But i would try a bit harder on that melody next time! I think it kind of cut the feeling... not sure if i'm being clear

Thanks! Are you talking about the synth melody or the piano melody?

I'm digging your track "Primero"! The drop gets me pumped, and I love the variation at the end around 5:40. The only thing I would change is the kick drum, I feel like it's not coming through the mix as much as it should be. Really great job though, keep it up!

Thanks guys

This is awesome! All around a very clean track. The only thingI think it's missing is a heavier bass or a sub bass during the drop; it feels slightly empty to me during the drop. I really love your transitions and song structure!

This is great. I feel like we've got the new Hardwell here!Very professional, great drums in the intro, the melody is very cool, very refreshing, and the piano fits right with the trancer synth. Sorry if I haven't got much criticism on this, you should just keep on producing, I'm sure you'll get quickly signed on a big label, if that's what you want.
