If you use a soundcard with ASIO and all that stuff are you able to hear all the sounds on your computer? Right now I'm using ASIO4ALL and it kinda sucks because you can't listen to other tracks for inspiration and such.

i think it had nothing to do with the soundcard.
it depends on the DAW you use.

For instance, FL Studio has the "release driver in the background" option.
what this does is, when you minimize FL Studio, it releases the driver from your soundcard, so you can use/hear sound in other applications/internet

Ableton doesn't have this option, so you can't have sound other then ableton itself.

even if you use asio4all in FL Studio, you can hear your computer sounds. But asio4all in ableton, and you hear nothing.

Hope this make sense :-) it's not the soundcard, but the "release driver" stuff that let's you hear the computer sounds.

Ok, thanks. Does this work with any soundcard?

I'm wondering how to obtain that kind of bass a lot of Nu-Disco producers use.
I think it's sampled, or recorded. Any tips for getting in Virtual Instruments?
All type of comment are appreciated.
Thank you!

Okay, so I recently got Sylenth1 which I use in FL Studio. But I can't get my head around the pitch wheel. When I create an automation clip for the pitch on the plugin's settings and set it to rise two octaves (for a build up), Sylenths pitch wheel seems to go up too fastfaster than the length of the automation clip. So what is the best way to use the pitch wheel in Sylenth? I'm not very good at explaining this cos' its kind of complicated to explain. But if you think you know what I'm talking about, would appreciate some help :) Thanks!!!!!

Did you raise the bend range on Sylenth to 24? You might want to check your channel settings and adjust the bend range there to 24 as well, since it's on 2 by default.

Hi Guys i had the same issue before and if you instal an ASIO multi-client server you should be able to get around the limitation. What you need to do is

1. Install multiclient server.
2. Start up the server and make sure it is using ASIO4ALL as the target driver.
3. Start up application A, set output to "ASIO Client" (this is the asiomulti virtual device).
4. Close application A.
5. Start up application B, set output to "ASIO Client".
6. Configure application B to use the same sampling rate and bit depth as application A.
7. Start up application A.

You can get a multiclient server here:
ftp://ftp.steinberg.net/Download/Hardwa ... omulti.msi

Just tried setting the bend range on the channel settings too. But It's still raising too fast. I'll probably figure it out how to do it sooner or later, but in the meantime... I haven't got a clue! Haha! Thanks for the help :)

That's weird, it should work properly once you've sorted out the channel setting. Does this only happen with Sylenth?

Also worth noting: when you reopen FL, the channel setting resets to 2.

Perhaps you want it to bend only 12 semitones. It's enough in most cases - that's what I found out.

Yeah, it only happens in Sylenth. But I think I've found a way around it. I'm gonna create an "ever - rising" sound by linking the Mod Wheel to the pitch. This should solve my problem... Fingers crossed!

Hi guys, i didnt open a new topic for this question coz it seems to me that everything on this forum happens here :)

SO, my question is about clipping on the Master in Ableton.

I don't produce yet, but I recently started making bootlegs. Now, a lot of EDM tracks at the moment are very very loud, at like +3 o+4 db, so when you put the track in Ableton, the master turns red all the time. So my question is, is there any sound distortion when I export that audio? and what about bootlegs, should I normalize the louder tune or what? Also if I take an older tune that is approx 1.2 db quieter than a new one, can I just turn the gain up to 1,2?

I'm asking coz if I'm already making an edit/ bootleg of a track, I would also like to keep it's original loudness.

Thanks in advance,

Oakich
