Non-dance productions (experimental/electronic/fx)

Postby Sebas » Fri May 13, 2011 10:37 am

Yo guys!

Are here people who are producing or at least try to produce something different then dance/house music?

I love scores/soundtracks/filmscores.. composers like Hans Zimmer (Inception, Pirates OTC, Call of duty etc) , Philip Glass (The hours), James Newton Haward (I am legend) , Michael Giacchino (up) and of course daft punk (tron legacy) just to name a few.

Anyway here's something I made.. I'm new to this but its something like an intro/action something. Will make more soundtracks in the future.

curious about other productions on this forum!!

Made this about 4 months ago for a school project... This is the only time I've ever tried to make anything other than house lol

But yeah dude Hans Zimmer is a genius... Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross did an amazing job on "The Social Network" score too. One of my favorite scores to date

That melody is perfect dude! like seriously great... You should make a trance track out of this! Not sure if that's what you were going for at all, but this sounds like one of the most epic trance breakdowns I've ever heard lol

Like it, sounds good :) .

I also like your track Durt, and Sebas, although I think after practicing a bit you can pull of something even better, but it does sound like an intro :D .

You quote quite good moviesoundtrack composers man, but if I were you, I'd add Harry Gregson Williams(Kingdom of Heaven...) He's great, not only does he make great sounds, but he's also able to change completly his style to fit to any movie he's working on.
I really like Zimmer's work, but for me, William's the best composer right now.

Sometimes I try to write songs just for the piano or use like just one synth to write music, thats more classical than experimental I guess.
This guy is a genius too!

or his track: conquest of paradise.
