Feedback for the tracks I downloaded last week:
@Badisco - Beyond The Sea (Original Mix)
Cool intro with the synths! Good overall volume of the track,
well done! Ooooh shit! Trance! Yes please! Loving the doubled
up kickdrum here. The structure of the track is a bit too long.
The crash in the break at around 3.20 a bit loud.
Loving the piano break too, but I feel it needed to move back
into trance after that. Well done man! I'm thinking about making
an edit of it to play out : )
@Blink LapSap
Lil Girls (Goldfish & Blink Remix)
Hey Blink, good to see you here! Loving these big synth chords!
I think the vocal can be up more in volume. Now you can hardly
hear them. Vocals should always be loud in the mix.
So, I think it's good you are sampling your beat sounds now! That's
an improvement. Be sure when you cut the samples you don't hear clicks
at the end of the sample, like in the kickdrum here. You can prevent that
by putting a very very short fade out at the end of the sample.
I think the Dutchy synths is well programmed. But I don't like the sound
of it. It should be simpler. Less layers in the sound. I think the snare
on the 2 and 4 is too loud and too sluggish. It should have a lighter EQ.
EQ some mid low out of there and lower it a bit in volume.
@Carl Cavallius
Cavallius & Vedlé - 22.22 (Original Mix)
I've heard this one and gave you feedback already right? Sounds great!
@DJSneakAttk
Parkev K- Fresh Start
It's interesting. Although you sound loud and the percussion you
use are good. I can still hear you are just beginning with this.
Your synths can use a bit more crispyness. And your white noise doesn't
sound fresh enough. Also, when using toms, try to tune them with your
sounds. This will make the track sound more as a whole. Keep it up
though, this is not a bad way to start at all!
@DJufcb
Ucf - Let them come to Berlin ( Original Mix )
I like that bit of minimal feel in here. Funny you have that speech
in there. It's cool you have an atmospheric vibe with the strings
and everything, but I miss some dancefloor energy in your track.
I think overall your track stays too atmospherical to get a good
energy going. Also, the overall volume of your track is distorting,
that doesn't sound good. You should lower the volume on the
master so it doesn't clip.
@DSC
DSC - Lexia
Yes, liking this groove straight away! I like this big trance kind of
stab. The kickdrum can use a bit of an punchier attack. I would put
another punchy kickdrum on top of it. I think the stab stays to fragmented
and programmed too far apart to have an energy going on.
Somehow, after the break it doesn't kick back in with enough energy.
Maybe an extra ride or a crash cymbal on the kickdrum would help!
@Gianni Marino
Bingoplayers - When I Dip ( Gianni Marino Legboot )
Oh shit, I love this! I would play it for sure. And dude, if you want
I can send it to the recordcompany too so they consider it as an official
remix. PM me a link with the whole version. Thanks!
@HitchcockDJ
Hitchcock - Nafta (Original Mix) (bacauhousemafia.roclub.org)
Sounds like a proper production. I like those chords, kind of sounds
like EDX/Deadmau5. I think you can use a stronger kickdrum.
EQ a bit of low/mid EQ out of the clap. I do think you should use
a different sound of hihat too. A more solid sound.
@Khodi
Khodi - Thought Process (Original Mix)
Sounds pretty good! I hear some talent here. Really liking the way
the track build up with the atmospheric break and then just getting
really freaky. You can use a hihat or some rides here and there, but
other than that proper! Well done!
@MarcAleksei
cut&runbymarcaleksei
Interesting groove you have here! Quite funky. I think this sounds
great! Techno as I would say techno should sound nowadays.
I always was into funky techno. Super! I think I'll try and play this.
Original stuff, totally your own kind of sound, good!
@Metro
Metro-Here We Go Now (Original Mix) 320 CUT
It's too bad I don't review snippets! I'm sorry. Just made an
exception for Gianni here because I know he finishes tracks.
Other than that I'll only listen to whole tracks.
@MoscaTribalProducer
Oh Fuck! (Original Mix)
Good volume! I like it when I hear a track is loud! I like the way
you program your elements. Sounds good. Your only problem is
making all the melodies sound in key with eachother. It's hard to
explain, but the different sounds you use now are off key compared
to eachother. So to me, melody wise it sounds really bad I'm afraid.
You should hear, by pitching say, the conga tone up or down how
it sounds compared to the stab. And if you can make them sound in
tune that way.
@P-Dizzy
P-Dizzy - CHik Magnet
Ha ha cool, I like that bit of disco chanting in there. Good build up
in the break, but I think the break is a bit too long. I like this kickdrum!
Clean and punchy. I think the Dutchy melody can use a bit less FX.
I'm not too sure about the snare in there. I don't like the sound of the
snare and I don't like the reverb on the snare. The reverb sounds a bit
cheap and there's too much in it. Definately try to make the breaks shorter!
@Peloo
PeeLoo - Sunset ( Original Mix )
I like your melodies in here. It seems like you have a good ear for
melody and music. Your biggest flaw here is you are using preset drumkits.
Stay away from those as they will make you sound amateur. Check out
the Vengeance Essential Sample CD kits or sample drums from existing
tracks. This will help you sound professional straight away. Try to make
your sounds sound a bit fatter by experimenting with EQ, chorus and
compression.
@RobsonJunior
Ester feat Lil Wayne and Chris Brown- Drop it Low (DJR bootleg)
Wow, I love that breakdown and tempo change! I do am afraid your
Dutchy part sounds too fragmented in those beats. I think you should
have the kickdrum more basic in there, that will help a lot. I think the
bleepy sound has too much reverb on it. It should be more in your face.
I think listening to Quacky by Afro and Sidney should help you hear
how the bleeps and beats should sound!
@RonnieFlex
Ronnie Flex - Thursday
Ha ha, getting a bit in Dadalife mode here! I think the synths should
be added a bit more low mid EQ and the voice a bit less low mid EQ.
I'm not sure if this is a really good kickdrum, I miss some sub in there.
You hear it in the bassline in the break. Now that's sub!
@Shazza
shazza-go over
You got some nice techhouse going here! I like those basslines on the
hihat side of the rhythm. Sounds fine to me! Good melodies and proper
production. I won't play it, but to me there's nothing wrong with it! Well done.
@Jokers
Im Blue (The Jokers remix)
I'm a sucker for claps on the kickdrum. I love that! There is some stuff
really going wrong here though. The raps are not on the beat. You should
really try to get the acapella straight on the beat. Even the bleu chorus
doesn't sound right on the beat. Where are the melodies? And why is
the overall volume of your track so low? You should put a compressor
and limiter on your master output.
@Uppermost
uppermost - under the ground
Wow, there's a lot of low end going on here! There's too much!
You should try and lower the EQ at 30hz and 50hz on your master
output and then it will sound better in the low end straight away.
I like your programming and the way the track sounds underground
and freaky! Maybe you do would need to add some punch in the kick
if you EQ the low stuff away.
@Wajih
Wajih Hsini - Work Fuckin' Hard (OriginalMix)
I like it when the beat comes in it sounds very clean and Avicii like.
I was already wondering why your track was 9.44 long! But the breaks
are way too long man! And you have two of them, crazy! This would
kill the floor vibe I'm afraid. Also, the way the piano is programmed now,
I hear the clap on the wrong count. It has to do with musical pronounciation
or the way rhythm works in notes. Notes have that too!
@Zebbe
David Guetta feat. Chris Willis, Fergie & LMFAO - Gettin' Over You (Sebastian Öhrn Remix)
The Dutchy stuff is pretty well programmed. I think there should be more
bass in your bass. I'm not too sure about your hihats. It makes everything
a bit too rattly and fragmented. Not bad though! I hear you understand
what works on the floor and how to program it!
